Zadig & Voltaire Opens in Georgetown

Parisian ready-to-wear label comes to Georgetown.

French fashion house, Zadig & Voltaire has opened at 1227 Wisconsin Avenue in Georgetown in the spot formerly occupied by Ecco shoes.

The name of the brand, founded in 1997 by Thierry Giller, is from Voltaire 's novel  Zadig ou la Destinée: the main character, Zadig , left its mark on the spirit of the creator, through his charisma, modernity and courage.

The Zadig & Voltaire’s style is chic and yet nonchalant, and includes men’s wear, accessories, and a children’s collection.

Since 2021, they have launched the VoltAIRe Program which aims to protect the air, to fight against its pollution, to protect biodiversity, and to fight against climate change. The brand is committed to designing and developing products that can be loved, worn, passed on, which last over time and which are manufactured with respect for people and ecosystems.
