Just in time to start preparing for those extra holiday pounds, Georgetown welcomes Athleta, an activewear company designed for the every day on-the-go woman. Its new space on M Street has merchandise for almost every activity including yoga, running, and winter sports apparel.

In addition to practical features such as windproof material, high- zip neckline, and sleeve thumb holes, Athleta wanted their activewear to also serve as an athletic fashion statement. Inspired by current trends, the majority of the pieces are meant to be layered, encouraging customers to transition from their activewear to loungewear without an outfit change.

The staff is extremely well-versed in the science behind the clothes, and are equally as knowledgeable in sizing specifics. Free shipping is provided for merchandise not found in the store, and hemming is complimentary for any Athleta items.

The store also hopes to involve the Georgetown community with free adventure classes, making use of Georgetown's hills, trails, and parks.
