SWAN Day Celebration at Grace Church March 23

Women Artists from D.C. and beyond offer FREE staged readings, dance, storytelling, poetry readings and performance art in celebration of SWAN (Support Women Artists Now) Day.

On Saturday, March 23, 2013, Guillotine Theatre Company will host the 6th Annual DC SWAN Day, an all-day event featuring FREE Theatre, Poetry, Dance and Storytelling. Performances will take place at the National Museum of Women in the Arts, and at Grace Church.

DC SWAN Day events include:

12noon – 3:00 pm Staged Reading Marathon: Twelve 10-minute plays -- culled from the best of the past five DC SWAN Days -- by women playwrights from all over the USA, and directed by DC’s woman directors.

At the National Museum of Women in the Arts, 1250 New York Ave., NW (Although this event is free, there is a small admission charge for the Museum)

4:00-7:00 pm Poetry readingsby DC area women poets

Dance performance by Nancy Havlik’s Dance Performance Group

Storyteller Ellouise Schoettler’s Pushing Boundaries, a story of a 1950’s housewife morphing into an ERA activist

Performance Artist Annetta Dexter Sawyer
