The Road More Traveled

Guests from the travel, media and related industries gathered at The Washington Hilton last Thursday as Conde Nast Traveler unveiled their newest issue celebrating “Mrs. Obama’s Washington” in which the First Lady expounds upon her favorite spots both for entertainment and history, making the White House accessible and more.

The event, hosted by Conde Nast Traveler’s Vice President and Publisher Chris Mitchell and Editor-in-Chief Klara Glowczewska , included special guest Valerie Jarrett, Senior Advisor to the President. After addresses to the crowd by the Conde Nast brass, Jarrett spoke of the DC Metro area’s resurgence in popularity as a destination and the contributions of the hospitality community. She and the hosts stayed on for post speech mingling over cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.

Among the guests were Politico’s Patrick Gavin, Christine Delargy of NBC, Tammy Haddad of Haddad Media, Anne Schroeder Mullins, Chef Todd and Ellen Kassoff Grayof the newly reopened Equinox restaurant and John Arundel of Washington Life.
