Putting on the Dog
It was a howling good time on the patio of J & G Steakhouse at the W Hotel on Thursday evening as guests and their pets gathered for a Fashion for Paws Halloween Pawtini Happy Hour to benefit The Washington Humane Society.
Paparazzi abounded as a procession of adorably costumed four legged friends and their owners paraded in their ghoulish finery and exquisite fur coats, each vying for accolades as best dressed judged by Fox5's Steve Chenevey, PamelasPunch.com's Pamela Sorensen, DC United's Marc Burch and "The Apprentice's" Steuart Martens. Humans enjoying the revelry included Tara de Nicolas, Jessica James Golden & Nelson Lewis, Donna Donella, David Pardini & Angelique Velez, Judy & Sean Kiley, Stef Woods, April Firoozabadi, Jennifer Barrett, Nina Snow, Michael Woestehoff, Janine Schoonover and many more animal lovers who munched on hors d’oeuvres and sipped cocktails.
Let’s face it—there’s nothing more fun, more enticing, more adorable, than a bunch of silky-haired bundles of love and devotion. Although I, for one, think that their natural outfits are about as beautiful as they come, a little witching hour embellishment can be ever so cute. Canine costumes included a French Bulldog Bee, ‘Lindsey Lohound,’ a bevy of Lady GaGa four-legged friends, the original Hot Dog, Devils and bunnies and more. A favorite of the evening, though, had no costume at all-- Lucy, a four month old pit bull mix with enough love to fill the entire
ty of Pennsylvania Avenue. She needs a good home and can be adopted at through the Washington Humane Society. This year’s Fashion For Paws signature event will take place on April 9th at The National Building Museum.
