2026 Washington Winter Show celebrates history and diplomacy.
The Washington Winter Show will hold its 71st antique show January 9-11, 2026 at American University’s Katzen Arts Center. This year's Show celebrates the intersection of history, diplomacy, and the evolving concept of the American home. For more information and to purchase tickets, click here.
This esteemed event, the nation’s second oldest charity antique show, attracts over 6,000 attendees from across the country. Featuring fine art and antiques from more than 40 dealers, the show provides a platform for engaging with leading figures in design and historic preservation through lectures and panel discussions.
Co-chaired by Ambassador Stuart Holliday and his wife, Gwen Holliday, the 2026 Show will spotlight renowned architect, Gil Schafer as the keynote speaker. In a fitting nod to history, Ambassador Youssef Amrani of Morocco will serve as the Honorary Diplomatic Chair, representing the first country to recognize American independence. The theme of this year’s show, A Place to Call Home, Celebrating 250 Years of the American Home Here & Abroad, pays tribute to the cultural influences and architectural and design styles that have shaped the American home over the past two and a half centuries.

Attendees can look forward to Schafer’s Lecture & Luncheon on Friday, January 9th at 10:30 am, where he will present, “Building a Home to” This session offers a unique opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the intersection between design, tradition, and modern living with one of the country’s most sought-after architects.

Amanda Lindroth and Russell Windham will headline a design panel titled, “Cultivating Spaces: The Art of Design from Coast to Classic,” moderated by Eugenia Santiesteban
Soto, Style Director of FREDERIC Magazine. Additionally, decorative art advisor Genevieve Wheeler Brown will deliver a compelling lecture on the intriguing history and artistry of Delftware, shedding light on the influential women who enriched its legacy. Sunday, January 11: Landscape designer Fernando Wong, along with his partner, Tim Johnson, will share their insights on creating outdoor living environments with their talk, “Nature’s Canvas: The Art of Outdoo Living Spaces."
For the youngest collectors the Show offers “Sundaes on Sunday” featuring a special reading of “First Ladies Make History” by authors, Anita McBride and Giovanna McBride. The reading will conclude with a tour of the Show.
An extraordinary loan exhibit, “Marks of Friendship: 250 Years of U.S. Diplomatic Treasures.” will highlight America’s diplomatic journey through cultural artifacts. Lewis & Wood, a British supplier of beautiful and unusual fabrics and wallpapers, is thrilled to announce an exclusive collaboration with Georgetown based showroom, Evans & Sheldon, to produce a stunning collection of custom bespoke wallpaper that beautifully reflects the diverse influences of international design on American architecture and design.
