The Neely Experience

The Art to Medicine

On the heels of being named Best Dermatology & Aesthetics Practice in Washington, DC, in Modern Luxury’s 2026 Best of the City, Dr. Neelam “Neely” Khan launched Neely Dermatology & Aesthetics with a dazzling party at her new office at 2440 M Street NW.

“Allison Rasmus, our designer, did a phenomenal job at manifesting the vision that I had in my head, ” Dr. Neely explained. "I didn't want a space that felt clinical. I wanted the office to reflect calm and tap into the five senses, making patients feel at ease."

Her aesthetic philosophy is first and foremost about offering expert care. "I do both medical and cosmetic dermatology but I truly believe in the importance of bedside manner, making sure that patients' needs are addressed and ultimately going above and beyond to present as many options as needed to allow them to do their own advocacy. There’s a certain art to medicine but we need to keep it evidence-based."

Essential to her goal of offering good medicine and aesthetic treatments in a luxurious setting, Dr. Neely explained that with so many med spas to choose from, patients should look beyond the setting and ask who is providing—and overseeing—their care. A space can be beautiful and relaxing but may not have a physician on site to guide treatment and address complications. “I’m in the office every day, five days a week from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm."

A self-described “extroverted extrovert, Dr. Neely combines Southern charm, having grown up in Memphis, Tennessee, with the hospitality of her Pakistani background, where being a gracious host is a point of pride. That same commitment to excellence extends to Neely’s leadership training, community involvement and mentorship of students. A graduate of Vanderbilt University and Georgetown University School of Medicine, Dr. Neely has practiced in DC since 2021 and resides in Georgetown.

“I love living here. My husband and I love that it’s the perfect balance of families, students, and seniors, creating such a vibrant sense of community. And we can walk everywhere."

Hers is the first and only practice in DC with XERF, and Dr. Neely eagerly explained what all the excitement is about. "It's one of my favorite new treatments, the hottest in the market right now, a cutting-edge, noninvasive skin-tightening device from Korea with no downtime. It uses radio frequency energy to lift and tighten loose, sagging skin on the face and body, including the jowls—an option for those looking for tightening without surgery. With built-in cooling, it feels like a hot stone massage while stimulating collagen.

”“I’m really proud that our practice is growing. We’re trying to make patients feel comfortable, cared for, and confident in their care, in a beautiful setting that really puts them at ease. I have a brilliant team, and I put a lot of thought into what I recommend for each patient. My name is on the wall, and I stand beyond the care we provide. Other practices in major cities across the country are definitely taking notice of our model, and it means so much to me to be building this here in Washington, D.C. We’re setting a new standard for what the patient experience can and should be."
