Meet Artist Brian Petro at Vastu This Weekend
On May 19th and 20th, local artist Brian Petro will open the doors to his basement studio at Vastu (1829 14th Street, NW) to host guests for a preview of his work.
The Vastu collection utilizes mixed media, often incorporating photographic images. Drawing from childhood experience, working in a grocery store, Supermarket Series, incorporates window signs (often found in dumpsters) mixed with various paints and adhesives to create a colorful celebration of Petro’s experiences living in New York City.
Brian Petro’s show at Vastu runs through July 16th.
