Georgetowner and il Canale owner Joe Farruggio is profiled in a full page article this month (April, 2016) in the social magazine Washington Life. The article is titled “Flour, Salt & Passion."
Joe is hobnobbing in the publication with the best. President Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and Sophie Gregoire Trudeau are pictured on the magazine cover at the Canadian State Dinner.
Starting from a small restaurant on 31st Street NW near the C&O Canal, Joe has expanded big-time into the former Cannon’s Fish Market next door, with a new wood-burning Stefano Ferrara pizza oven and completely new kitchen.
Italian-American contractor Melo Cicala, also a Georgetowner, led the team that installed the sparkling new kitchen.
Both new and old properties are now wrapped into one modern restaurant.
