L'Avant-Garde is Open

Georgetown has a new brasserie.

You know the spot. The Guards was there for decades before it closed in 2012, followed by Rialto, then Maxime.  And now, L’Avant-Garde is at 2915 M Street in Georgetown.

Operator and Creative Director Fady Saba wants to offer DC a playful yet sophisticated European experience, striking the perfect balance between classic and new-age French food and wine, service, and (a-never-too-serious) ambiance. Executive Chef Gilles Epié, at 22 was the youngest chef to receive a Michelin star.

An ode to Paris, where a sultry, high-energy atmosphere combines with sophisticated and fanciful cuisine, classic cocktails, and an extensive wine list.
