Key Bridge Boathouse Hosts Group Paddle for Flyover
On Friday, May 8, something special is happening in D.C. To honor the heroes who fought in WWII, one of the most diverse arrays of World War II aircraft ever assembled will fly above the skies of Washington for the 70th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day, as part of the Arsenal of Democracy World War II Victory Capitol Flyover. The historically sequenced warbird formations will fly over the Potomac River and National Mall starting at approximately 12:10 p.m. Of course, the best place to view this historic event is from the water! Head to the Key Bridge Boathouse (3500 Water St. NW) at 11:00 am for a group paddle to the tip of Roosevelt Island to watch this spectacular event. Normal rental prices apply; free for season pass holders.
