Jazz in the Hoods
The Renaissance Dupont Circle in conjunction with the 2010 DC Jazz Festival (formerly known as The Duke Ellington Jazz Festival) hosted an intimate evening with celebrated harmonicist Fréderic Yonnet in its lounge Tuesday evening. Yonnet performed his own set and invited other guest musicians to sit in with the band. This jam session is designed to present guests with an opportunity to savor contemporary jazz and to celebrate the legends with premium cocktails named after jazz greats.
The DC Jazz Festival will again partner with more than 35 clubs, restaurants, hotels and galleries to offer and promote over eighty performances over ten nights.
With more than 100 performances in dozens of venues across the city, the DC Jazz Festival is the largest music festival in Washington, D.C. and one of the most highly anticipated cultural events in the nation. The Festival presents year-round music education programs and concerts for DC students and residents by local, national and internationally-known talent at venues across D.C., promotes music integration in school curricula, and supports outreach to expand and diversify the audience of jazz enthusiasts
