Every time she stood, spoke, or even looked out onto the crowd, she received a standing ovation or, at the very least, a roar of applause. Georgetown University's Dean of the School of Foreign Services Carol Lancaster, and President John. J. DeGioia introduced the Secretary of State and gave context to her visit. The purpose of her speech shed light on the gender differences and inequalities that women face all over the world. Her passion on this subject has long been known, and she couldn't have been more proud of the action plan that President Obama signed. She spoke of the atrocities women face all over the world, and touched on solutions that the plan would enforce.

Clinton also spoke about a woman she had recently come to deeply admire who was also in attendance, the President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga. Her strength and determination was something the Secretary of State noted, as Atifete Jahjaga is the youngest woman president in her country's history. After graduating from school she became a police officer determined to protect and bring peace to her people. After winning over the trust of the people both on and off the streets, she ran for office to bring about change. Her spirit and tenacity helped prove Clinton's point about how effective women can truly be.

In closing, Hillary Clinton said, "Women are not victims of war, but agents of peace."
