Go Car Free on September 22
Take the pledge, even if you’re already car free.
Car Free Day is organized in various cities throughout the world in different ways, with the common goal of reducing congestion and improving air quality. Help reduce traffic congestion, contribute to a greener environment, and reduce gasoline demand by signing up to participate in Car Free Day 2022!
Residents and commuters across the region are encouraged to take the free pledge to get around without driving alone in cars, and instead use transit, rideshare, bike, walk, scooter, or telework.
Participants who take the pledge are automatically entered for a chance to win raffle prizes. Car Free Day is open to all residents in the Washington, DC metropolitan region.
Already car free? That’s great, and since you’re doing the right thing, you also get the same chance to win prizes when you fill out the free pledge form here, and go car free or car-lite (carpool, vanpool) on Thursday, September 22, 2022.
