We were surprised to learn that Cannon's Fish Market closed August 11th "for medical reasons." The sign posted on this iconic Georgetown purveyor of seafood for over 70 years, states, "we appreciate your support over the past years and apologize for your inconvenience."

Cannon's history dates back to the early 1900's when Joseph Cannon started by delivering milk by horse-drawn wagon in the city. In 1937, he opened his first seafood business. Since 1968, it's been at 1065 31st Street in Georgetown.
