Georgetown Village Honors Elizabeth Miller
Longtime Champion of Georgetown celebrated at Spring Gala

Elizabeth Miller was honored at Georgetown Village’s Spring Gala Thursday evening at the home of Nancy Taylor Bubes and Alan Bubes. When the Village asked if they could honor her, Elizabeth realized that it was a fundraising event. Immediately she set out to raise the most funds ever. And that she did!

As a tireless supporter of the Georgetown community, Elizabeth has been a constant champion of Georgetown Village. She has also served as Executive Director of the Citizens Association of Georgetown, creating the popular Concerts in the Parks Series that has run consecutively for over 20 years. She was elected to Georgetown's Advisory Neighborhood Commission and served as Chair. She currently co chairs the Georgetown Coalition for Public Spaces. She continues to be involved in local and national political campaigns and served as Councilmember Brooke Pinto's Campaign Chair.

Guests enjoyed a cocktail buffet catered by Chef Rob Miller, Elizabeth’s brother, and live music as they congratulated their extraordinary friend and neighbor.

The Village presented Elizabeth with a plaque that read ‘As a creative force and champion of connection, your work has inspired us and helped shape a stronger, more caring neighborhood.’

Elizabeth said, “I am extremely grateful to the Georgetown Village, including Lynn Golub-Rofrano and Judith Bunnell, for honoring me at their annual gala.

Their work has a profound and positive impact on Georgetown. I like to say they’re the best private club in Washington, DC and everyone who wants to be a member always get in.”

Moved by the recognition, she added, “I felt so seen. Connection is my love language - it’s what I was put on this planet to do. I love bringing people together to create meaning and memory. To be honored for this passion is particularly special to me.”

“As of mid-April I am of the age to join the Georgetown Village! I look forward to mahjong at the Village Square and all the fun and creative lectures and events that Lynn and her team organize each week. I hope to see you there soon.”
A doughnut truck gave out free doughnuts to everyone as they made their way home.
