Embrace the Break

A kintsugi workshop with Amparo Rojas.

Practice the art of repairing broken pottery with gold inspired by the Japanese philosophy of kintsugi at Shop Made in DC at 1305 Wisconsin Avenue in Georgetown on Sunday August 30, 2026 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Purchase tickets here.

This workshop invites you to reflect on your own story of resilience. Participants will gently break their own ceramic vase and learn how to mend it using kintsugi techniques. Amparo Rojas is a couples and dating coach and workshop facilitator who creates experiences that blend hands-on creativity with personal growth. Her workshops are designed to slow down, reflect, and connect more deeply—turning insight into embodied change through creative, intentional practices that support a more grounded, connected, and fulfilling way of living.

As you restore your piece, you’ll be guided through meaningful reflection, honoring the idea that our cracks and challenges can become part of our greatest beauty and strength.

The ceramic pieces provided in the workshop are intentionally selected and sized specifically for the two-hour workshop experience. Guests are welcome to bring their own ceramic piece to repair, however they may not complete the repair during the workshop depending on its size and complexity.
