Dumbarton Concerts Presents Vida Guitar Quartet Oct. 20

On Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 8:00pm, the Vida Guitar Quartet will open the Dumbarton Concerts 35th season at Georgetown's historic Dumbarton Church with a program featuring El amor brujo (Love, the Magician).

This evening's program features Mark Eden’s transcription of Manuel de Falla’s El amor brujo which has been hailed as a tour de force. Also on the program is an arrangement of Bizet's Carmen Suite. In between, the quartet will take a brief journey to England and Scotland with works by Arnold and Crittenden.

The Vida Guitar Quartet brings together four guitarists of exceptional artistry: Mark Ashford, Mark Eden, Christopher Stell and Helen Sanderson who share a passion for chamber music.

After their debut at the World Youth Guitar Festival in 2007, the Quartet have rapidly gained a reputation as one of the most dynamic guitar ensembles in the UK.
