Dumbarton Concerts Presents 'Tales From The Vienna Woods'

On Saturday, November 16 at 8:00 pm, the PostClassical Ensemble presents an evening of Viennese delights. The performance will feature pianist Benjamin Pasternack and soprano Jennifer Casey Cabot.

Re-experience Johann Strauss's most beloved waltzes in a variety of scintillating transformations – including a chamber ensemble version of The Emperor Waltz as lovingly transcribed by Arnold Schoenberg, and Adolf Schulz-Evler's spectacular solo piano paraphrase of The Blue Danube performed by Benjamin Pasternack. Soprano Jennifer Casey Cabot sings "Vilja" from Lehar's The Merry Widow plus a few surprises!

Hailed by The Washington Post as “wildly ambitious,” the PostClassical Ensemble is celebrating its 10th season as an “more than an orchestra.” Under the leadership of music director Angel Gil-Ordóñez and artistic director Joseph Horowitz the Ensemble has presented more than six dozen events in the DC area, and also toured festival programs to New York, Seattle, and Chicago.
