Choral Arts Society readies for gala

Committee members and supporters of the Choral Arts Society of Washington gathered at the Georgetown home of Brooke and Stephane Carnot for a celebratory luncheon kicking off the season that leads up to the annual gala at the Kennedy Center December 19th. The Carnots are co- chairs for the 31st Annual Holiday Concert & Benefit Holiday Treasures from Russia and are joined by Brooke's mother Kandy Stroud as honorary chair. Mrs. Stroud herself sang in the chorus for many years and was often joined by her late husband, Dr. Franklin Stroud. The Strouds were longtime Georgetown residents and Brooke grew up in the neighborhood. After living in Europe for a time, the Carnots have returned to live in Georgetown with their thre children and are enthusiastically involved in the community as supporters of Friends of Montrose Park among other organizations.

Cathy Kerkham, Deputy Director of the Choral Arts Society of Washington (and also a Georgetowner) joined Pamela Hines, CAG President Jennifer Altemus and a host of others at the Carnot's gorgeous home to address invitations to the limited seating event which raises funds for the annual season of concerts as well as its educational and community programs.
