Celebrating 250 Years Together at City Tavern

Citizens Association of Georgetown 1751 Party

Over 450  Georgetown friends and neighbors gathered Thursday evening to celebrate with The Citizens Association of Georgetown (CAG) at their 1751 Party held at City Tavern.

The theme of this year's fundraiser: “Before There Was America, There Was Georgetown” commemorates the establishment of Georgetown as a colonial port town along the Potomac River 40 years before the creation of the federal district and the City of Washington.

The festive and oh so fashionable evening featured live music, bourbon tasting, a special sensory presentation by Diptyque, and a sumptuous buffet -- all to celebrate Georgetown’s history and honor distinguished members of the community.

This year’s honorees are Florence Auld, Jessica Bieligk, Richard Hinds, Rick Murphy, Jennifer Romm and Nancy Taylor-Bubes.
