Barnes & Noble Returning to Georgetown

America's largest bookseller is back.

Barnes & Noble is returning to 3040 M Street NW according to Commercial Observer.

It’s the same 33,754 square foot space the bookseller occupied in 2011 before Nike took over and let their lease expire in 2023. Nike had hoped to move to a smaller location down the street but Aerie (American Eagle) clothier at 3235 M extended their lease with East Banc.

“We couldn’t be more pleased to return to Georgetown,” James Daunt, Barnes & Noble’s CEO, said in a prepared statement. “There is no better example of the changing fortunes of physical bookstores, and Barnes & Noble specifically, than to reopen in this magnificent building at the heart of Georgetown.”

The new store will showcase books, toys, games and gifts, and will have an in-store café.
