ANC Paves the Way for Marine Corps Marathon

ANC now rather than in the spring in response to the ANC's new criteria for approving street closures for large-scale events, as well as the recent controversy involving Charles Brodsky, whose role as D.C.'s Chairman of the Alcohol Beverage Regulation Administration has drawn negative attention to The Nation's Triathlon and The DC Triathlon, for-profit events run by Brodsky's company. "We saw it in the email," said Schmidt, referring to the controversy. "We wanted to visit with the ANC sooner rather than later." Schmidt, flanked by Operations Coordinator Isabelle Thompson and Public Relations Coordinator Tami Faram, had no trouble securing the ANC's permission -- and praise. "This is the celebrated marathon," said Chairman Ron Lewis. "We're delighted to have you." Commissioners were unanimous in their agreement.
