Inspired by Georgetown's Remarkable Women
Amanda Hagerman Jewelry celebrated its first year in Georgetown on Thursday, September 24, with One Year In Georgetown: An Evening of Women, Jewelry, & History, an intimate preview night introducing a new capsule collection of one-of-a-kind 18K gold jewels inspired by six extraordinary women who once called Georgetown home.
Guests gathered at the atelier at 3259 Prospect Street NW for wine, charcuterie, and a private tour of the workspace where each piece was handcrafted. Amanda co-hosted the event with Jamie Peva, a longtime Georgetown resident, realtor, and local history enthusiast, who helped bring the stories behind the collection to life.
The collection began many months ago with a simple idea. As a newcomer to the neighborhood, Hagerman wanted to better understand the people and stories that shaped the place she now calls home, both personally and professionally. Working with Peva and his daughter, Violet, she uncovered the lives of several remarkable Georgetown women, including Julia Child, Elizabeth Taylor, Evangeline Bruce, Lorraine Cooper, and The Peters Sisters. Each piece in the capsule offers a small glimpse into one woman's story and a connection to the Georgetown of today.

All pieces in the capsule collection are available for purchase. They will remain on display at the atelier through the end of October, so visitors have the chance to see the full collection together before pieces go home with their new owners.
