The seventh annual Georgetown Jingle will take place on December 16, 2012, at Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC. The family-friendly holiday extravaganza, hosted each year by Four Seasons Hotel and the design community, benefits Medstar Georgetown University Hospital’s pediatric oncology programs.

Each year, Washington’s interior design community comes together to support the event. Top designers festoon the Four Seasons Hotel lobby with a total of 17 holiday-themed trees and vignettes. Arlington-based designer Michael Roberson is the 2012 design chair and selected, with her committee, the participating designers. This year, Sandi Hoffman of Sandi R. Hoffman Special Events created the majestic center tree in the Hotel lobby. The theme for her center tree is “The Shaker Abecedarious” based on the 1880’s children’s alphabet book A Peaceable Kingdom by Alice Provensen.

The Georgetown Jingle offers something for everyone. This year, the Georgetown Jingle will be held in Seasons restaurant and will be presented in two acts. The first act, Winter Wonderland, a family centric afternoon, will be from 1:00 to 4:00 pm and the second act, Pamala Live!, an adult-only cabaret evening, will be from 7:00 to 11:00 pm.

Georgetown Jingle 2012 raises funds for the pediatric oncology programs directed by Dr. Aziza Shad at Georgetown’s Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. Since 2006 the Jingle has raised over $1.5M dollars for pediatric oncology programs at Georgetown University Hospital.

Designed to fight childhood cancer, the Georgetown Jingle is ultimately about the children and teenagers who are living with cancer every day. Each year patients volunteer to be Patient Ambassadors for the Jingle. These patients and their families are partnered with a participating designer, and they willingly share their stories, their disappointments and their successes with all of us. Every time a member of the Jingle team walks into the pediatric clinic at the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, one is a struck by the artwork on the ceilings and on the walls; the unflappable parent comforting a tired child; the tireless action of the staff; the smiles on all the faces; the courage that each and every child and adult must have to walk through those doors each day.
