The Ritz-Carlton makes entertaining special, sparing no attention to detail. What a better place to celebrate the legalization of same-sex marriage in the District and receive legal counseling and wedding tips at the same time.
This past Tuesday, Skip Sroka, Jeffrey Fox and Ellen Qualls hosted a cocktail reception at the Georgetown hotel’s Fahrenheit Restaurant and demonstrated a new chic in wedding
planning. Ritz Executive Pastry Chef Ryan Witcher’s presented a glorious cake creation and tasteful table settings with white tulips and the very tastiest passed hors d’oeuvres accompanied by the best-stocked bar which featured the Red Raspberry Martini completed the joyous scene.
The hosts, after introductions by Ritz General Manager Grant C. Dipman, awarded door prizes – complimentary stays a Ritz-Carlton Hotels at destinations served by JetBlue, American and Continental.
Distinguished
attendees also included Mickey Berra, vice president of production for the Kennedy Center and his wife, Marcy Berra, of Entertainment Staging, Inc.; Jimmie Paschall, global diversity officer for the Marriott, Marcelle Cooper, wife of the head of Ritz-Carlton, Jim Ryan from Las Vegas, Jonathan Mervis of Mervis Diamond Importers, and Ritz event coordinators Colleen Evans, and Esmaralda Perifold. And let’s not forget the delegation from The Enchanted Florist from nearby historic Alexandria: Natalie Kappel, Phyllis Kennedy, Gina Ziegler and Melissa Olsen.
Guests were also invited to check out a candlelit outdoor chapel on the first floor.
My thought for those shopping for the perfect gift is Keith Lipert’s emporium on M Street, walking distance from the hotel and, back to taste, the best for miles around.
