Georgetown University Service day to encourage energy efficiency

Saturday, September 4 is Georgetown University's Community Service Day.  As part of the service day, WeatherizeDC, a local nonprofit, will give 100 Georgetown students a crash-course in home energy efficiency and head up an afternoon of community outreach in Georgetown.

Students will be knocking on doors to gauge neighbors' interest in weatherization, give homeowners a chance to learn more about energy efficiency, and even sign residents up for free home energy assessments.  When you weatherize your home, you save money on your energy bills, reduce your carbon footprint, and, just as importantly, help create career-track jobs for D.C. residents.
