Georgetown Gala at Italian Embassy to Honor Jack and Michele Evans

It's not too late to get tickets! The Citizens Association of Georgetown's (CAG) annual black tie event that brings together residents, organizations, businesses, and politicos to celebrate Georgetown and CAG’s mission of historic preservation and improving the life of the community, is this Friday, October 24thand will honor Jack and Michele Evans.

Held at the stunning Italian Embassy, Ambassador and Mrs. Claudio Bisogniero will be Honorary Chairs. This year's theme, “Fly Me to the Moon” will give the gala a cool Rat Pack/Mad Men vibe in its cocktails, gourmet Italian dinner buffet, fabulous entertainment, unique live auction items, and hip After Party.

The honorees, Jack and Michele Evans are long-time Georgetown residents and activists. Jack Evans, is D.C Council’s longest serving councilmember having representing Ward 2 since 1991. Jack serves as chair of the Committee on Finance and Revenue, which oversees the District’s finances, including tax policy. In addition to earning a reputation as one of DC’s toughest budget and tax stewards, Jack has used this committee to secure approval of many major legislative tax reforms including: reducing tax rates, simplifying DC’s antiquated tax code and establishing incentives for businesses. He was instrumental in the opening of the Verizon center and Nationals Stadium. He has been an advocate of gay rights, co-sponsoring the bill that legalized same-sex marriage in D.C. Micheleis very active in the Citizens Association of Georgetown and chaired the Georgetown Gala for several years; she. She is a proud supporter of the Georgetown House Tour and our local community parks; she also volunteers for meals on wheels for the elderly.

Co-Chairs Jennifer Altemus, Colleen Girouard and Robin Jones along with their committee, are putting together the evening’s entertainment to include crooner Danny Meyers and his DC Love band playing dance music during cocktails and dinner, a live auction featuring FOX News Commentator, Griff Jenkins , followed by DJ Trophy Brothers upping the tempo for more dancing.
