Full Moon Walk Among the Monuments July 27

Join an evening walk on the National Mall this full moon Friday, July 27, 2018. Meet new friends with Washington, DC History & Culture group starting and ending at the National World War II Memorial and cover approximately 3 miles past Washington DC's most famous monuments and memorials.

Schedule:

Meeting Time/Socializing = 6:45-7:00 pm

Departure = 7:00 pm (sharp)

Moonrise = 8:26 pm

Sunset = 8:37 pm

Ending Time = 9:30 pm (approximate)

Itinerary:

National World War II Memorial (starting point)

The Tidal Basin

Jefferson Memorial (10-minute photo/restroom break)

Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial (10-minute photo/restroom break)

Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial

Korean War Veterans Memorial

Lincoln Memorial (10-minute photo/restroom break)

Vietnam Veterans Memorial

National World War II Memorial (ending point)

Registration: Free - this event is open to the public and all are welcome to attend including children and groups (unfortunately, non-service pets are not allowed within the monuments and memorials due to National Park Service regulations).

Weather: This event will take place light rain (sprinkles) or shine

Meeting Point: Meet at the National World War II Memorial, on the 17th Street side, and look for a large group of friendly people with name tag stickers, which we'll hand out.

Ending Point: The National World War II Memorial. However, from there many our group will walk back to the Smithsonian Metro for those interested.
