Free Skin Cancer Screenings Saturday, April 14th

Dermatologists from the Washington, D.C. metro area will provide free screenings, sun damage assessments, sun safety education, and free sunscreen (courtesy of La Roche-Posay) to the public on Saturday, April 14th from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm at Pennsylvania & 14th Streets.

This service is part of the Women's Dermatologic Society's new grassroots initiative called Play it Safe in the Sun which goes beyond the organization's traditional targets of golf, tennis and outdoor enthusiasts to reach out to family members of all ages and skin types at large-scale urban festivals.

"The physicians at the Washington Institute of Dermatologic Laser Surgery (WIDLS) are leaders in cosmetic dermatology. While we have a vast array of treatments to correct the signs of aging, we are first and foremost, dermatologists who adamantly believe in skin cancer prevention with daily use of sunscreen and antioxidant to protect vulnerable skin from the damaging and aging effects of UVA and UVB rays," said Dr. Tina Alster, vice president of the Women's Dermatologic Society and founding director of WIDLS.
