Adolfo Dominguez, the renowned Spanish designer favored by Gwyneth Paltrow, will appear at the boutique bearing his name in Chevy Chase Thursday, April 21 for a special reception including diplomats, designers, and fashion media.

The eco-conscious trendsetter became the first Spanish designer to open his own brand-name store in Madrid, which soon spread across Spain and abroad. Finally it went public (another first for a fashion designer), and became one of the Madrid stock market's hottest properties. The Chevy Chase store is the first franchise of the brand in the United States, owned by Heather Previn, Julia Perez and Javier Vargas.

Adolfo's style is urbane, functional, casual and eminently comfortable, making use of loose, natural fabrics. One of his key principles has been to avoid distribution through multi-brand shops and cultivate clients directly in environmentally- and pet-friendly boutiques.

Readers of The Georgetown Dish are invited to meet Adolfo and his business-partner daughter Tiziana Thursday, April 21 6:30 to 8:30 pm at Wisconsin Place (next to Bloomingdale's) at Western & Wisconsin Aves. Space is limited. Click here to RSVP.
