At noon Friday, the three top Mayoral candidates will convene at the Tony & Joe's to debate the critical issues of the campaign, with a particular focus on Georgetown, Burleith, Glover Park and the nearby environs of Northwest. Georgetown journalist Carol Joynt will be the moderator but the questions are to come from voters. Carol invites questions via her celebrated blog. Questions can be sent to: Debate Question. The blog notes The Washington Post  said this "appears to be the last mayoral debate."

The sponsors of the debate are The Georgetowner, Eagle Bank, the Citizens Association of Georgetown and the Georgetown Business and Professional Association, according to Carol.

The Dish asked a number of Georgetown residents for questions for Joynt to pose to the contenders, incumbent Adrian Fenty and challengers Vincent Gray and Leo Alexander.

Here are the questions:

Georgetown University Expansion: Many residents of Georgetown, as well as Burleith, Hillandale and Glover Park, are very concerned, if not upset, at the number of GU students living off-campus.  Do you agree that GU should take the necessary steps to move a large number of students on-campus?

Transportation: How would you improve public transportation in Georgetown to get people out of their cars?

Mutual Evaluation: What single best quality does your opponent have?

Education: What is your plan and vision to build on the changes Chancellor Rhee has made at DCPS?

Budget and General Direction: For Gray – what two significant budget cuts would you make to stop taking from the reserve fund?

For Fenty – given that most voters think the District is moving in the right direction, what are the two major concerns you have about a Gray administration?
