It's Washington Kastles Season

The Washington Kastles are in the midst of their exciting two-week season that starts after Wimbleton as a warm-up for the professional tennis players for the U.S. Open. This year has added intrigue with the addition of two new players who have local ties to the DC area.

Frances Tiafoe aka "The Big Foe" is a promising rookie ATP player who hails from Hyattsville, Maryland. Treat Huey, in his third year with World Team Tennis, and first as a Kastle, is a skilled doubles player who's a native of Alexandria, Virginia, where he resides presently.

Both are welcome additions to the Kastles roster especially since the retirement of team leader and multiple grand slam champion Leander Paes.

After notching another Wimbledon mixed doubles title on her victory belt, the ageless Martina Hingis is a fan favorite and in top form. When she teams up with doubles partner Anastasia Rodianova, there are few in the league that contest them and win.

After the Kastles finish their week with matches on Thursday and Friday night, they are back in DC next week to attempt to regain their WTT title from San Diego in a bid for the playoffs.
