Georgetowners ask for votes on housepaint
As neighbors offered opinions on color selection for a planned repainting of the front of her house, Renee Esfandiary and her family decided to open up the court of opinion to, well, everybody. "A number of our neighborhood friends were giving us their 'vote' for the color for the front of our house" on 33rd St. ever since the family painted swatches on the facade to compare the options. So they decided to ask passers-by to vote with chalk marks on their favorite color.
Last weekend, visitors such as Emily Berriz and Caitlyn Blankenship, students at Fairfax High School, studied the options and cast their votes.
Although the hundreds of chalk mark votes haven't yet been officially tabulated, Esfandiary says the gray color called "Storm" is the probable winner. "In all likelihood we will go with the people's choice since it is our favorite as well," Esfandiary said.
