Dedicated to Denim

"1873 was the year that “two visionary immigrants — Levi Strauss and Jacob Davis — turned denim, thread and a little metal into what has become the most popular apparel on earth.” Levi Straus in San Francisco started it all.

We’ve come a long way since those original sturdy workmen’s overalls. And today, DC has 13 shops dedicated to denim, seven in Georgetown: Levi's, Steven Alan, Barney's, Madewell, Wink, Diesel and L:ucky Brand Jeans.

DC Racked mentions 11 but don't forget to check out Diesel at 3033 M Street and Lucky Brand Jeans at 3273 M Street.
