CBS's Face the Nation host Bob Schieffer will join Georgetown’s own Rebecca McCabe on stage as the Citizens Association of Georgetown launches its 2011 Concerts in the Parks series Sunday, May 22 at Volta Park. While Schieffer has sung with bands including "HonkyTonk Confidential," McCabe will blend his talent into an evening of acoustic, country, and pop rhythms that promise to get neighbors swaying in the park at Volta & 34th Sts. starting at 5:00 pm.

In addition, Lil Omm yoga will lead a parent-child yoga class just before the concert begins at 4:30. BabyLove, a charity founded by former Georgetowner Ali Wentworth that helps needy families by providing baby gear, clothing, and products for children up to age six, will have a truck to pick up any gently-used or new baby supplies.
Cupcakes and ice cream cones will be provided by Georgetown Cupcake and Haagen Dazs. Sprinkles is on tap to provide cupcakes later in the series.

Mark your calendars now for the next concerts in the series: Sunday, June 19 (Father’s Day celebration) and Monday, July 4 at 5:00 pm (Kiddie and doggie parade at 4:30 in the Park).
