The weather cleared just in time to draw record crowds to Volta Park to hear Georgetown's own singer-songwriter Rebecca McCabe and Face the Nation's Bob Schieffer, who kicked off the 9th Annual Summer Concerts in the Parks series.

"The band was SO FUN - the lobster truck was a HIT - it just all worked," said organizer Elizabeth Miller. The next concert is Sunday, July 3.

Mark your calendars now for the next concerts in the series: Sunday, June 19 (Father’s Day celebration) and Sunday, July 3 at 5:00 pm (Kiddie and doggie parade at 4:30 in the Park).
