The Zenith Galler, commemorating its 32nd year in the nation’s capital, is presenting a mixed-media show featuring trees in all their fabulous forms at Chevy Chase Pavilion through July 31.
Trees of Life II stems from gallery director Margery Goldberg’s longtime interest in and reverence for trees. A wood sculptor, conservationist and Washington resident, she said “I’m not happy about people who don’t like dogs, but you really have to worry about someone who doesn’t care for trees."
Board Chair Lynda Webster thanked Margery for her passion, artistic talent and for donating ten percent of proceeds to American Forests. The nation’s oldest nonprofit conservation organization works with individuals, communities and policy makers to protect and restore forest ecosystems.
American Forests’ Global ReLeaf campaign has planted more than 30 million trees in 600 forest restoration projects worldwide and has a goal to plant 100 million trees by 2020. For more information, visit www.americanforests.com.
