The Washington Post's POSTLOCAL section declared that area restaurants have recently left diners disappointed. Post restaurant critic, Tom Sietsema, hosted a live chat on Wednesday about the "several dispiriting meals" he's been subjected to this week. An online chatter agreed that formerly solid choices are leaving something to be desired. Sietsema chalks this up to a range of possible factors; the heat, “too many young chefs taking time off to be new parents,” or the sluggish economy.
