Times are such that a local boutique is fleeing "transitional" Columbia Heights for bargain retail space in Georgetown Park. Simply Soles, a women’s shoe store, is abandoning its current location in the 'hood and moving to the old Ann Taylor location in the sleepy mall. Simply Soles will hold an opening reception March 6. Real estate honchos Anthonier Lanier and Herb Miller have battled over the future of the retail hub.

What a great score for GT Park. Love Simply Soles when it was just mail order, and their store in the hood was very cozy...but I am much happier to visit Georgetown than Col Heights. Love Intermix, Anthropologie, J Crew and the new Gore Dean store over there.
gtown park has it going on lately, with Gore Dean, Fornash, Fire & Ice and the new print shop - SimplySoles will be so cool!!
