Beloved Georgetown journalist and former co-owner of The Georgetowner David Roffman will be honored next week by Georgetown Business Association, when it presents its Lifetime Achievement Award at a City Tavern Club luncheon ceremony Wednesday, June 16, 11:30 am-2:00 pm at 3206 M Street NW.
Sometimes called a Georgetown version of American literary icon Mark Twain, Roffman built the community newspaper into an authoritative voice with wit, irony, cerebral editorials and a nose for news. He continues to play an active role in Georgetown, leading the community in a number of charitable causes.
