Simon Jacobsen, Architectural Correspondent
Simon Jacobsen was born and raised in Georgetown and has never left.
He is the Managing Design Partner of the Georgetown architectural firm Jacobsen Architecture, LLC and practices internationally with his father Hugh Newell Jacobsen. Simon Jacobsen is an award winning designer and a member of Architectural Digest's AD100, the alpha list of the best architects and designers in the world.
Simon recently created the very popular blog "Vanished: Washington, an architectural eulogy of what was Washington, D.C." which documents the destruction of buildings in what he calls "the great architectural purge of the 1940's through the 1980's in Washington and Georgetown." The blog, which has 30,000 followers both nationally and internationally, is now a recurring feature to The Georgetown Dish.
