A Boston native, Leslie moved to Washington in 1999 and has been an active member of various community organizations and initiatives including Share Our Strength, The Citizens Association of Georgetown and Friends of Volta Park as well as a board member and committee member of several non-profit organizations. With a professional background in book publishing, marketing and fundraising, Leslie has contributed to The Georgetowner and wrote monthly for the Citizens Association of Georgetown newsletter for many years. Dedicated to a full and flourishing life in the city for her family and neighbors, Leslie stays engaged with her neighborhood. Leslie's mission is to be an active member of an urban neighborhood that offers a wide variety of choices to residents though art, entertainment and businesses that serve to create a vibrant community. "I have always loved Baudelaire's concept of the flâneur (french for "stroller"), where one experiences and learns about their city and its inhabitants by walking through it often and speaking to as may people as possible," she says. Leslie and her husband Paul have two sons who are growing up to be quite the flâneurs themselves.
