Nordic Jazz Festival June 25-29

The Nordic Embassies are presenting the eleventh annual Nordic Jazz Festival in Washington, D.C., June 25th – 29th, 2017. Internationally acclaimed performers from Denmark/The Faroe Island, Sweden, Finland and Norway will present the modern sound of Nordic Jazz over the course of 7 concerts. 


On Monday, June 26 three bands will perform in the spectacular setting of House of Sweden. Enjoy a first hour of cocktails and jazzy tunes by Oskar Stenmark Trio on the rooftop followed by two full sets of contemporary jazz by Swedish sextet Klabbes Bank and by the Nordic ensemble based in the Faroe Islands Yggdrasil.

Under Armour Not Coming to Georgetown

As reported May 10 in Washington Business Journal, Sagamore Development, the investment company which owns the building on the southeast corner of Wisconsin and M Street in Georgetown, is looking for a tenant. 


The building, most recently Serendipity3 and formerly Nathan's, was widely expected to become a retail Under Armour store. Under Armour founder and CEO Kevin Plank lives in Georgetown.

Art in the Garden at Tudor Place

Beginning and advanced artists alike will find inspiration in the historic gardens of the Tudor Place estate in the heart of Georgetown Friday, April 7, 2017.


Join Director of Buildings, Gardens and Grounds Kellie Cox, an award-winning botanical artist, to explore a variety of subjects, media, and locations in the historic garden. Students will learn tips and techniques for working in pencil and pastels or pen-and-ink, creating their own unique art piece during each class.


No art experience required. 


Members: $45 per class | Non-Members: $50 per class


Tudor Place is located at 1644 31st Street in Georgetown.
