The lyrical palette of Robert Rea on view at Susan Calloway Fine Arts

April 1, 2011

Opening at Susan Calloway Fine Arts this Saturday, April 2, 2011 and continuing through April 16 is "Robert Rea: A Lyrical Palette," an exhibition of abstract paintings.

Born and raised in small-town Alabama, Rea processes his childhood memories of red clay fields, pine-filled forests, and rolling foothills at the edge of the Appalachian Mountains in his paintings. Through the use of honest brushwork and a muted and subtle palette, the artist conveys a sense of vibrant light-filled landscapes.

Robert Rea's paintings are currently featured in the April/May issue of Veranda magazine.

Susan Calloway Fine Arts is at  1643 Wisconsin Avenue. Tel: 202.965.4601

Citronelle hosts wine series with Master Sommelier Kathryn Morgan

March 17, 2011

This month's "Sommelier Secrets" on March 19 marks the second in a series of special Saturday wine classes hosted by Michel Richard Citronelle Restaurant with Kathryn Morgan, one of only 16 female master sommeliers in North America.
It has been said that the definition of good wine is that it should start and end with a smile.  These wine classes are designed to educate as well as entertain.  More than the profile of the Pinot or the taste of the Chardonnay, Morgan introduces guests to everything from flavor profiles to wine myths and etiquette.  The Mistress of Citronelle’s collection of over 8,000 wines, Morgan offers unique insights into all aspects of the beverage—for both oenophiles and novices alike.
"Master Morgan is a devoted wine professional who has proven her knowledge about, and passion for wine in a spectacular forum." Jay Fletcher, Chairman of the Center of Master Sommeliers, American Chapter.
