Wendy Gordon, Author of "Don’t Get Me Started …"
Wendy Gordon is a writer and President of Hisaoka Communications. She has worked in the niche restaurant, food and beverage and hospitality public relations industry for over 20 years. Her experience in the field through working at agencies, on-site in restaurants and in the corporate environment have afforded her not only a thorough opportunity to participate in all aspects of her chosen field, but also to establish close and enduring working relationships with local and national media. Throughout her career, she has not only developed and implemented successful strategic public relations and marketing plans, but also acted as consultant in restaurant concepts, collateral design and promotional events.
Most recently with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company and Marriott International as corporate director of food and beverage public relations, she has produced coverage for their restaurants that have included not only numerous feature stories in major local market media throughout the United States and abroad, but also in such national and international publications as Esquire, Food and Wine, Gourmet, Travel + Leisure, Conde Nast Traveler, Saveur, Bon Appetit, The New York Times, USA Today, Vogue, Town & Country, Elle, Playboy, Glamour, Cosmopolitan, Metropolitan Home, Architectural Digest and Food Arts and broadcast media such as The Today Show, Good Morning America, The Early Show, Food Network, CNN, MSNBC and Fox and Friends. She has also opened several restaurants and hotel properties in the United States and abroad.
Prior to establishing her company, Flash Communications, which merged with Hisaoka Communications in 2009, and her tenure with The Ritz-Carlton, she worked as a restaurant specialist at agencies in Philadelphia and New York. She has also worked on ‘the other side of the industry,’ as a freelance food and feature writer for a variety of publications.
